Chiropractic Care

Did you know that your level of health is dependent on the proper communication between your brain and body?

Your Spine’s Relation to Overall Health

Your nervous system consists of your brain, nerves and spinal cords. Nerves travel out from the spine that go to all areas of the body. Misalignments in your spine, then, can put pressure on these nerves, which in turn interferes with the communication between your brain and body. The outcome? Dis-ease.

As a chiropractor, Dr. Smith’s job is to locate any misalignments in your spine and correct them, allowing your health to flourish. According to extensive research, chiropractic care is effective in treating many types of musculoskeletal conditions.

Varied Techniques to Suit You

Dr. Smith is well-versed in several different chiropractic techniques, including instrument-based and manual methods:

  • Activator®
  • ArthroStim®
  • B.E.S.T
  • Cervical work
  • Diversified
  • Thompson

There are usually three types of responses to care. First, you may feel relief after an adjustment. Another possibility is that you don’t feel differently. Lastly, you may be sore, which is a positive development. After a great workout, you might also feel sore. We’re retraining your muscles and soft tissues, which can result in such a feeling.

For patients who have not been in an auto accident but are visiting us to resolve other concerns, we re-evaluate your condition every few visits to ensure that you’re responding well to care. Re-examinations will be performed at regular intervals.

Low-Level Laser Therapy

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) utilizes state of the art technology in the application of low-level (low-power) lasers or light-emitting diodes to the surface of the body. The application of low-power lasers relieves pain by stimulating and enhancing cell function.

The EVRL laser technology, used in our clinic, has FDA clearances for chronic low back, chronic neck/shoulder pain, as well as overall musculoskeletal pain. The violet laser also has anti-microbial capabilities that will help fight infections, bacteria, viruses, and fungus. It is used to treat traumatic brain injury, as well as ligament injuries (grade 3 sprains).
